Thanks to the volunteers who participated in the cleanup, removing about 150 bags of trash, 30 tires, and a number of other large items from the watershed. The majority of the trash was plastic bottles and containers. Other items picked up were three 55-gallon plastic barrels, plastic buckets, two electric motorized children’s vehicles, and a piece of furniture.
The work of individual volunteers, families, and groups who participated is greatly appreciated. Thanks to Boy Scout Troops 295 and 501; and the Northern Virginia GeoCache group.
