Results of the Occoquan cleanup – September 21, 2024

Many thanks to the volunteers who participated in the Occoquan River cleanup on Saturday, Sep 21. Volunteers went out on the water from multiple sites along the river: Riverview Estates HOA boat ramp, Occoquan Forest HOA boat ramp, Lake Ridge Park & Marina, and the Lake Ridge HOA boat ramp. The amount of trash collected is shown below.

At the Lake Ridge HOA boat ramp on the Hooes Run section of the reservoir, eight volunteers collected trash.

A total of about 40 volunteers participated from Lake Ridge Park & Marina, some gathering trash by boat out on the Occoquan Reservoir, and some gathering trash at a stormwater pond near the Lake Ridge / Tacketts Mill commuter lot.
