Want to be a Trail-builder?

August 12, 2017August 23, 2017

Prince William County Department of Parks and Recreation is hosting a two-day Trail Building Seminar September 9th-10th at Hellwig Memorial Park, located at 14420 Bristow Road, Manassas, VA 20112.

The seminar is free of charge for attendees. We will cover the basics of sustainable trail design, construction, and maintenance. The seminar will consist of a classroom component and in the field trailwork designed to give attendees hands-on experience with the latest techniques for trail design and construction. No experience necessary; the training is geared toward trail enthusiasts and the general public, and will be a great introduction for new trailworkers and a comprehensive refresher for experienced volunteers.

With new trail projects coming on the Occoquan Greenway and Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail, there’s never been a better time to learn and get involved!

Register here.  More information can be found here,  or contact Ryan Delaney, PWC Parks and Rec Trails Planner at RDelaney@pwcgov.org.
