2nd Sunday hike – May 14, 2023 – Potomac Shores Trail System

Join us for the 2nd Sunday Hike on the Potomac Shores Trail System in Dumfries. We’ll hike a portion of the trail system, doing a two-mile loop which includes the North Pond Trail, the Heritage Ridge Trail, and a section of the Powells Creek Trail. We will visit the Dent Family Overlook with views of Powells Creek and interpretative signs. This is a fairly easy hike on an established and well maintained natural surface trail, but with some hills.

Meet at the trail head of the North Pond Trail , which is near the intersection of Potomac River Blvd and Potomac Shores Parkway. Park on Potomac River Blvd near the trail head.
Start time is 1:00 pm
Registration will allow us to track the number of participants, and notify you if the hike is postponed or cancelled because of weather conditions.
