POSTPONED – Trash cleanup at Veteran’s Park & Marumsco Creek – Saturday, March 23, 2024

The cleanup has been postponed due to the forecast calling for rain on March 23. It is rescheduled for Saturday April 6, 2024.
Join us for the spring cleanup of Marumsco Creek and wetland, in Veteran’s Park. Please register here. This cleanup will focus specifically on the stream corridor and wetland, as shown on the map. This is an undeveloped area of Veteran’s Park. The trash in the wetland is carried in with storm water from the developed areas upstream. Pictures are shown below.
Parking and check-in for the cleanup will be at the parking lot for the Little League ball fields. Volunteers will walk from there to the cleanup area. Trash bags, gloves and litter grabbers will be provided.
The PW Dept of Parks, Recreation and Tourism will have staff on hand with utility vehicles to haul the collected trash back to a dumpster.
