Volunteers needed for tree planting (live stakes) – Powell’s Creek stream restoration project

PWC Public Works, Environmental Management Division, is seeking volunteers to assist with planting 600 black willow live stakes, at the stream restoration site on Powell’s Creek. Live stakes are branches or cuttings from trees that will take root when inserted into the soil along a stream. The stakes will arrive on Feb 15, and will be planted on the following days.

Scheduled planting sessions: Tuesday, Feb 20 at 10:00 am and Saturday, Feb 24 at 10:00 am (due to the weather forecast, Saturday Feb 17 was cancelled)
